    2021 Spirit of Courage Award Honoree Colonel Eileen Collins (Retired)

    Colonel Collins, born in 1956, is a former test pilot and military flight instructor who became the firt woman to pilot the Space Shuttle as well as the first woman to serve as Commander of a Space Shuttle mission.  She logged more than 38 days in space during her service with NASA on four shuttle missions: STS-63, STS-84, STS-93, and STS-114.
